Nice find and good post! I'm surprised they recommend just removing the screen instead of cleaning or replacing it. I'm sure it was supposed to serve a purpose when it was designed. That is common when fuel injected boats are running on ethanol gas. The injectors get a varnish like layer inside a fuel chamber and cause detonation problems. Glad it's up and running. 4200 RPM sounds about right.
