Before I knew those "extend-a-zippers" existed, I had made one like that for my dock neighbor. He could never get the one flap closed because the canvas had shrunk over the years. I had an old canvas with zippers on it and cut them out and sewed them back-to-back for him to use.

Speaking of canvas. My CY 396 needed new deck pads. I just dropped them off to have them redone.
$1000 for the pair, 8 weeks delivery installed.

Update. I secured the panel to a sheet of plywood. A small staple in each corner and one mudslides. Then I taped it to the board. Secure as can be. I pulled the stitching out, and removed the old window and cut new one. Slid old back in. Next I am going to baste tape new one in. Once I get the new machine I will practice sewing. More soon with pics.

It is either going to be a total success or a total disaster. Time will tell.

Oh Boy, bought a Sailrite Ultrafeed LZ1 premium a month ago or so. Going to have to experiment quite a bit but felt I should try this on my own as these canvas guys are getting completely ridiculous when it comes to pricing. Really like DIY stuff and am quite patient so what the heck. Worst case scenario is I lose a few hundred after I sell the machine however I have a feeling this is going to work out well for me. Wish me luck.
