I can attest to that as mine did start to leak (very slow leak). Was an easy/inexpensive job to replace the seals but it was a heck of a search to find the leak. Lucked out at the end of the season when I changed oil and spotted a lonely drop hanging from the pump.

Could have been a disaster on a gasser for sure.

I don’t think I’ve ever had one in my circle that hasn’t leaked at one time or another, and that’s a lot of them.
