Carver 400 MY engine RPM issue

I was able to take it out today and wring it out. I got both engines up to 4k and about 30mph. Felt great. Cleaning the screen fixed it.

Speaking of Oberg filters has anyone bought the 6" 115 microns Oberg filter elements in place of the Carver OEM 110 micron element? The reason I ask is Amazon has them for half the price. I do not have the exact dimensions of our element but I think they are the 6" version. A detailed layout would be required to insure all dimensions match. Thanks Dan

Ours are 4" round obergs. I do have another set of screens so I can just swap them in a couple of minutes and clean the others later

Oberg does market the 4" version in a 115 micron. If dimensions line up I wouldn't think 5 microns would make that much difference. For $90 I make try a set. It would be nice to have a clean spare on the boat.

Dimension LxWxH : 5.55x5.05x.35

Could not find the Carver dimensions? That's typical.

As a young man I started my career as a parts scheduling follow-up analyst for Ford Motor Co. Will suppliers couldn't supply their parts and line production was in jeopardy, we did everything to keep parts on the line. My first source were the Ford dealer parts depot. If they had ample supply the would sell to me. I had to pay dealer prices. Those prices were 200 - as high as 500 percent to our factory purchase price.

Bottom line I will get a pair here. I have Amazon prime, freight is free. I will update post on findings.

This morning the 115 micron 4" screen was $32 with prime shipping I know they fit. If i were you not needing them right away I would put them in my amazon cart and see what the prices will do for awhile. I often do this with stuff I dont need right away You'd be suprised some times how much the price changes on things then grab them when there cheaper. I bought the whole oberg filter and metal housing kit which i dIdnt necessarily need for $28 and this included the screen filter so sometime it pays to watch pricing, but that's me I like to save where I can
