OK, other question about the tanks....
can both engines be run from the same tank at the same time? Any tank? Or is there limitations to what engines, including genset, can be run from any one tank?
I'm going to have about a 90 mile run to my home marina and I'd like to use up the aft tank first so I don't have hundreds of pounds of fuel in the a.. end of the boat.

Starboard and port engines run off their respective tanks. Both engines run off the Aux tank when you move each engines fuel selector valve to aux. The genset runs off the starboard tank I do believe. You have 100 gallons per side tank and 118 gallons in the rear aux tank.

I think the genset runs only off the port tank... at least that's the way it is on my friends 356. Otherwise, it's as mjk says.

One or the other, but they should have run it off the aux tank IMO. But then again they may know something we don't, like ur aft tank is going to leak and be put out of commission! LOL!

In this case, maybe stipulate a fuel sample from that tank you are concerned about....test for water etc......and if there is any further concern, require the tank be pumped as part of the deal.....if you do go forward and run off what may be old gas, don't beat on the engines, keep the hull in the water so there will be no knock issues.......good luck with it man....... ...to your new vessel...

Maybe when u have the sea trial the surveyor can request the boat be run on all fuel supplies during the trial. I doubt you'll get a fuel sample testing from the tanks unless u are willing to pay for it above and beyond the trial!

It will be run on all tanks. That won't be a request.

Heh Buster53....Absolutely...I completely agree with your concern with fuel tanks, it is a very real concern given the fuels now etc ....Imo ..Any findings on the water trial in regards to performance, condition etc can be part of the deal if the offer was contingent on a satisfactory trial....I guess in other words ,negative findings can be factored , reduced price based on repair costs ......I did the same thing with ours ( fuel ).Again good luck ....
