Good luck! Is there a webcam at the marina we can link to? Would be fun for us to see the departure/arrival. 8-) er

Hmmm, not sure if they have one there, that would be cool.

Well I will end the post with great news, the survey went well and learned a lot about the boat including some surprise visits: the broker who sold the boat to all 4 previous owners (I will be #5) and the current owner himself. What a wealth of knowledge, receipts from day one for most upgrades and maintenance records including recent oil analysis.

I will start a new post with pictures, notes and questions...thanks all for staying tuned!!!

I am admiring the hard top which had to be aftermarket since it was never an option on the 444/396 models. Looking good! Congratulations!!!

Apparently two owners ago this was added. I want to get my hands on the receipts next week when I review the survey notes with my broker. Rumor has it that this was a $25k addition. It is lined with LED's and has clips to hold up the polycarbonate openings when unzipped. Nothing floppy, very rigid.

Pete - having contact with the previous owner(s) is very valuable. Sounds like the vessel has had a great history of passionate owners, which translates to meticulous care. Maintain a connection point with at least the previous owner, as little quirks may come up, and then you can compare notes before spending $$ for nothing. I still maintain contact with the guy I bought from, and offer him opportunities to cruise or visit. He is always happy to chime in on boat behavior relative to his past experience. $25K on that top is realistic. Always use high quality cleaner on your polycarbonate. I did an experiment with Plexus compared to IMAX cleaners for my Strataglas, and learned some valuable lessons. Plexus is great stuff, but IMAR is absolutely needed on Strataglas. I am retired, but work part time during the spring at a marine store. My boat is the test boat for products we put on shelf, so I am fortunate that way. 8-) er

I see that IMAR has a cleaner and a polish. Nice, thanks!

Yes. The PO used Plexus for cleaning. Strata was showing a little haze in the window. After using IMAR a few times, the haze came out. Pricey, but it lasts for a while. I like the way it sprays on also. Plexus would over spray frequently. It's always windy when the windows need cleaning, especially in San Fran! Plexus is a great product, but my recommendation would be IMAR. 8-) er
