Sorry,,,meaning that the aux tanks were full, the primary tanks were less than 1/4 full and that extra weight was in the aft. As I tried adjusting the tabs to bow down, it did not go very far (I'm guessing due to aft weight). The full up vs full down reference is where I will position them given the conditions (cruise vs crawl). There will probably be no inbetween; hence, no need for indicators.

At 3200 RPM's, which is 80 % of my WOT, I run at 21 mph, which is nice for that size of boat on plane.
I don't normally trim to much when I am cruising and doing channel work at 8-10 mph, so I put them full bow up and fully retracted out of the way, unless I need them due too conditions.
3,200 RPM is 80% gas engines?
At WOT I was at 3,100 RPM on diesels and doing 21 knots (24 mph and boat planed nicely). What am I missing and why would this be? Pardon my ignorance but something doesn't add up.
Guess I gotta go back to my Cummins specs...

I have Volvo Penta D6, 370 Hp, diesel engines. WOT is 3600 rpm. which produces 29.5 mph. Manual recommends to run at 90%, but I choose not to. I like to run between 3,000 and 3100.
Should read 90%, typo.
They are designed as a high rpm engine, totally different than what you have. Sorry, I should have said that, didn't mean to alarm.
The weight you carry has a lot to do with your rpm/speed ratio, especially if it is in the back holding the aft down.

That is my thinking. Better to have fuel forward than in the back, unless you need it in this model. Try it out and you may fine the boat will level out better. I didn't have this problem in my 356. It occurs in this model because the aux tanks are in the rear cockpit.

Thanks Greg!
I went back to the Cummins specs and they are definitely 3,000 RPM engines. I'll play around with weight distribution and see what the boat likes (or what I prefer).
My sync gauge doesn't work properly, I think. I was syncing with tachs and harmonics. Gauge upgrades are on my wishlist.

I have mixed thoughts about a mechanical survey. Several of the boats I have bought had good oil samples. I decided against the mech surveys. I have been blessed with no problems. I look at the mechanical and boat survey the same way. The minute they leave and write the report, something can and will happen. As long as the boat performed to specs, it should be fine.
I haven't replaced water lines, but have replaced some fittings. The fittings are 15mm. I had to hunt for them because nobody local carries them.

Thanks, I feel good about the performance, the owners all cared and it shows. I'm not planning on lengthy coastal cruises, a lot of local SF Bay and delta cruising. WOT is not my style, I preferred the 12 to 15 knots (it's a comfortable speed for this owner). Oil samples checked out, no weird vibrations.
I'm not worried about the PEX stuff, I'm more concerned with the tight access in some areas to run the lines if I needed to. I would like to upgrade fixtures, never been a fan of marine fixtures, they always seem like inferior quality.

Finally got the Coast Guard abstract today, final steps are near to close this deal. Sorry, had to post, very exciting! Marine Title folks are finalizing docs, waiting on some notary items now. The waiting game continues but not for long.
