Just ran the boat on port side tank only and all systems back to normal

jumped up on plane and had her doing 27mph as opposed to 15mph yesterday before the filter change. O ring on the stbd fuel cap was missing. Going to get a replacement now.

I appreciate when the story goes all the way to completion, so thank you for letting us all know what the problem turned out to be. It's the only way we all learn what to watch out for and what works (and what doesn't).

Next time up I’m going to pull the sending unit on the stbd fuel tank since it is easily accessible and try and pump out the bottom to get any residual water out. Depending on what I find I may pump the tank dry. I picked up a new gasket for the sending unit as I’m sure the old one will get destroyed on removal.

Good to hear ya got it running right.....
Quick question....how are you planning to pump the bottom out with, what will you use ? I have done this on this very boat many years back but it was in the parking lot on a cradle.
Actually what you got in the filter could have been accumulating bits at a time, over time. I guess you will see.
Be extremely careful with gasoline, enough said.

I have a fuel transfer pump…rated for gasoline. No spark. I was planning to shut down everything, bilges included. Unplug shore power as well. Open all 3 engine hatch’s. I was thinking of using a piece of pex on the inlet side to give it some rigidity so I know when it’s at the bottom, and pumping into a Jerry can or cans if needed. In reality I was hoping just to get the bulk of the water out if there is much and let the separators do the rest with frequent checks. Not sure how I feel about putting it away with an unknown quantity of water in that tank. Marina has suggested to me that I just let the fuel filters do their thing and change as needed.I’m open to any advice.

If it were me , I would pump the bottom of the tank then put fuel conditioner in and run the boat almost as normal, just don't push the engines while the bad fuel is in there.
On the other hand, it is the end of the season and If you don't think you will burn enough off then by all means pump it out and start fresh, the fuel is much cheaper than an engine, burn it in your lawn stuff/ snowblower...

etc.
There is always the thanksgiving cruise around Beausoleil.......

I did something similar years ago. I was able to go in the fuel fill, as it was straight down. I used a 3/8" piece of copper tubing. You can put in whatever bends you need and straighten it out. You'll definitely know when you've hit the bottom of the tank too.

Ya I would check first to see if it's a straight shot into the tank from the fill port before I removed the sender. A lot of applications have an elbow right on the top of the tank so check for that first.
I wouldn't take the marina's advise to just run the engines without knowing how much water is in the tank. A little is fine but it's a different ball game if there's a lot of water. Pump out as much water as you can, then check the filters often until you don't see water anymore.
