Don't spend $1400.00 on a new icerette, get the Edgestar at $300.00, minor cabinet trimming is all u need and then insert.

Mike do you have the model number, will it do the same thing? Again I have no need for it, but like to have everything functional. Thanks.

EdgeStar IB120SS, worked great for us all summer! Seen others that are on their 3rd and 4th seasons with one and no issues to date. Mike

if you have taken it out why wait till next year to look at it. take it to your house get the cheap 1/4 line fixed hook up a water hose to it and install the new ice mold and turn it on. theres not really anything left but a thermostat and the water solenoid. you stated it gets cold of course below freezing is a must, its easier to work on than laying on your stomach in the boat anyway. the edgestar is a great choice but i wouldnt consider it yet unless you have just given up on this. you havent really spent any money on it in parts. you are replacing are items that are common failures, not really neglect .

+1
I don't have a history with the EdgeStar but I can tell you that your current unit is a good build and worth a repair within reason.

Mike/Viper, I agree. And had not thought of that, I should take it home and work on it. I already purchased the ice maker part. I will replace broken line, and see where it leads to first. I would rather keep the original look also. Again this is something I have no use for, unlike refrigerator. That I have to fix before next season. Which is going to be trickier than the ice maker. As there is no AC or DC power on it (as I have it posted under a different subject here)

If you don't need the ice, you can still use it as a freezer or remove it and install a small fridge if there is enough room. I know there are units out there that are close but all seem to be a little bigger so some cutting may apply.

yes that's true, the freezer part seems to work. But I think once I replace the broken line and ice maker, it may work. Since it keeps it cold while on. So I will attempt fix, soon as the winterizing the boat is done.
