Ok km1125; how did you rotate my pics? They were takin upright, but when I attached them here, they were all sideways. It was hit on the starboard side at about 1 or 2 o'clock on the bow pulpit rub rail and the bow railing. Scratches in the rub rail seemed somewhat deeper than those on the bow railing. I have takin the bow railing off and to a metal fabricator friend of mine that works with this stuff to straighten it the best he can. The Marina didn't want to attempt trying to straighten it on the boat in fear of breaking the welds and the stanchion gel coat and fiberglass. Fabricator may have to heat the rail to bend it back easier. The stanchion area looked fine, no cracks noticed.

Denpooch,
We're in the process of trying to replace our starboard window and are waiting on a quote. What type of glass did you use and was the $2700 for install too? Thanks in advance for any help.
Have a great summer!

Pretty low-tech! Copied it into mspaint, rotated, added the text then resaved and uploaded.

Hey DR.
The glass is 'Taylor Made'. I was able to track down the specific piece working with Carver and then the people at Taylor Made.
The $2700.00 was 'glass only' with shipping. They sometimes have to custom manufacture the piece. I believe they had mine on hand.
The install was $1,000.00 cash. I had quotes from a marina for $1,800.00 to install. I was fortunate to find a guy that had experience with this specific installation. The challenge with the Mariner is the glass is flat and the boat has a curve. It required that he secure the piece with wedges and gorilla glue and come back a second time to complete the caulking. He did a great job, but it certainly was not cheap.
Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the info. We're waiting on a local company for a quote. Hoping they can get the job done. It's been difficult trying to find glass and an installer. Thanks again.

I am creeping every so slowly toward this event. Shrink came off today and I got the boat plugged in and canvas on.... compounding the hull soon.... very soon.

Cheers

Do you happen to still have the contact info for either Carver or Taylor Made? I didn't think it be this difficult to replace a window! Thanks for the help.
