A little update is needed.....so here we are at almost the end of January already and here is what we have all been waiting for....the sign is up and it says..... 13 weeks to golf/boating....
The Toronto boat show is almost over with for another year, we did not go ( got lots of email ads for different things there ), but did anybody go and how was it ?
Not nearly as much ice this on the Bay this year, it hasn't really set up right either making it more dangerous than usual to be out on, ice fishing is getting to be more frequent though. My neighbour had to travel 7 hours away to go snowmobiling ......

It's definitely time to start thinking about the beginning of a new season. I hope to launch in early April. We'll see how that goes. No predictions like last year. I get in when I get in.
I do have one new toy to play with though. I bought a PWC at the Detroit Boat Show. A base model Yamaha EX. Could have lots of fun this summer.

Probably more like 14 weeks for me. 1st week of May is the usual launch, but if this mild winter continues, who knows? Can't get power or fuel at marina till 5-15, so more like cottage than a boat for a couple weeks. We too had a family passing, 91 year MIL, so another time to reflect on priorities. Once we get totally past the adjustment, our boating season will be much more flexible, so that is the "silver lining". Completed all ticky tac repairs in the early winter, so now I will be starting the polishing process in smaller bites. Really looking forward to hearing the engines growl to life again! Our local boat show had to change location at the last minute due to construction delays, so it was just pontoons and fishing boats. Did not go. I am hearing of contingency plans for a number of marinas around here due to expected water level. There are going to be a lot of significant changes in slip availability, if the anticipated 12" water rise comes to fruition.
Rick - congrats on the new toy. You have been considering that purchase for a while! 98 days to go!

97 days to go! We are having the 4th warmest January of all time. Average temps are 10 degrees F higher. Most days around 32F. No cold air coming for at least 10 days. While we have had 49" of snow, there is only about 6" on the ground. Lake Superior lake shore has 118" of snow fall. Glad it is staying up there. We are gaining about 3 min. of daylight each day, so we got that going for us.

95 days. I agree. I thought I saw a tab where I could "change topic", but now I can't find it. Anyone know how to change?

....under the tarp was nice and warm with the sun out, but in the salon was quite cold......anyhow all was well...
