I have not seen that boat so can't say, I was just hoping to avoid a long trip to be disappointed again.
Maybe next week after the holiday...

Thanks man....we just got back from another 12 hour search that crossed 3 more off the list for one reason or another, couple real nice boats just mostly high hours and price. The bay was nice today though, little windy but nice to get back up there , we miss it.
Heh Merk, I think that one is a private listing , haven't seen it yet, looks nice, slip and all, it's too bad we just didn't have the time to fit honey harbour into today, maybe next week after we recover from today...

Nice....
With the wind today, you would not have been going to the tomb... east side would have been ok tight in, but getting there may have been interesting....

So we have realized that the transition from a 355 to the newer 356 loses you the ability to open the salon windows as they are fixed. I do like the aft deck surround though.
Now I did read something along these lines but had forgotten about it till my wife noticed that on board the last one. I generally have the job of crawling around checking gelcoat cracks and deck coring...
Also read that the 5 at the end means opening and the 6 means fixed. So does this apply to all the 405/406 model years in that range as well. Do the 405's transition in the same years as the 355, and get the same upgrades....countertops , galley arrangement changes etc as the 355?
Am I right in assuming the 405 is the evolution of the older 370 versions ( wider beam ) updated and renamed ? We may have to consider one as the choices of good ( for us ) 355's is just not there where we are.

Yes and yes. The 406 equals no openi ng salon windows and countertop upgrades along with better sundeck surround. I have a 405 and really enjoy opening the salon windows in fall and spring allowing me plenty of fresh air without the need to run the ac. And the larger slide windows in the aft cabin and aft head. I did wish I had the better fiberglass molded surround but I got over that when we couldn't open the windows. We're too use to this. moving up from our Trojan 32 which had sliders too. I personally like having a lip around the countertops which keeps stuff from sliding off like the new Corian in the 406's. Theres always tradeoffs when boating. Good luck with your searches.

Thanks G, that air cross flow in the salon is big, I agree. We have at this point pretty much given up. I have to say the one boat we wish we had kept was our F32, still not sure what insanity caused us to sell it.
Just too many sellers that are moving on from high hour boats that need too much serious TLC, now that by itself is fine and I would enjoy the challenge, but when you are way too proud in the selling price vane then it ain't happening.
We will keep an eye out though as the season closes the reality of keeping things over the winter sets in big time. There are a couple that have not sold all season soooooo!....

Amazing, while looking thru boat ads came across our very first Carver for sale .......still from the person we sold to thru Crates. Geez it still has the same curtains etc after 30 years, yikes. Gotta give him credit keeping it for 30 years. Couldn't believe it.....
