I just bought a 1986 Carver 3697 Mariner. I was told there MAY be water in the generator tank. It currently does not start. Does anyone know if there is a way to drain the generator tank? or does it have to be sucked out? also, any ideas on getting the generator started?
Thank you in advance for all your help!!!!!!

You might want to start a new thread or you'll get confusing answers from folks that have read earlier posts about the OP's situation.
For your issue though, you might want to temporarily connect the generator to an external tank... like a portable outboard tank to completely rule out the fuel issue. If there's a question about the fuel in the tank you can still pursue getting that emptied and refilled with good fuel, but it won't slow down your troubleshooting of the generator. If you did get the generator running, you could also plumb it into one of the main tanks and deal with that separate tank when it's convenient.
