That is a good call- the old charger is removed and the wires ran to each battery (orange AWG 8 - way too small) - but what about the alternator feeds???

Maybe I need to pull all this "into the light" on the engine-bay side so I can see where everything runs.

I found the perko switch schematic and the standard diagrams do not show this switch being wired like it is at all. Hmm.

Matt, I’m in the process of replacing them now. I’ve ordered enough to replace all the dc (32) and ac (14) panel lights. I’ve ordered them all in led at 1/3 watt, which will hopefully will not be as bright as the originals. That’s my project for this weekend, so I will post before and after photos here. The original 120 volt lamps were neon...and they flicker, when they are actually working and that is driving me nuts. I think the last one working on the dc side just went out last week. I’m still trying to source the green/red reverse polarity light. I know what solico’s part number is, it’s just a problem finding someone who has them. I think I may have found that, but I’m waiting on a price quote.

Lots of stuff out there. Preferably led over neon. Not sure what size you need bt here they have both 6mm and 8mm in led. Cheap but it will take some time to deliver. choose either Aliexpress or EMS for best econimical delivery. ;-) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000191 ... 263dCVMwTO

I ordered mine from Lake-View electronics. Seemed to have a little better price and a bigger inventory. Here is the spec sheet on the lights. I went with the 18 series like original on the 125 volt and the 24 series on the 14 volt all led.

Got the original switch stripped and all the wiring pulled back into the engine bay. Now I can finally use my stairs again!

I lose these two 60a (120 amp in reality because they are tied together). I have main Breakers on theDC input of the panel do I need these additional Breakers? What is their purpose?

Since I also lose the essential circuits ( bilge pumps) shown above I had to wire up a terminal block on the battery side of the new switch to make sure they are always live as you will soon see (I'm getting ahead of myself)!

Here's a quick shot of the mess on the engine side of the firewall. The brown are the bilge circuits.
