Solar on a Riviera 28, anyone?

Post by SunsetSteve »

I installed 260W solar panel on my Albin 25 and I absolutely am committed to the concept. It runs my fridge and everything else all summer, no plug in, no charger needed. Now that I am (probably) moving to a Riviera, I want to repeat the project. I wonder if anyone has added solar to a 28, and if so, where did they locate the panel(s). No hardtop seems to leave only the front cabin top. Would love to see if anyone has done it. Next time the install will be a touch more subtle than this one! :-P

In my neck of the woods several use flexible panels integrated into the canvas. Not exactly sure how it is held in place but others will chime in. Here is one way however there are several easy inexpensive methods out there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_d30fXuwko

I agree with Hans, flexible are the way to go if you don't enough area for the rigid panels.

I mounted flexible panels with magnets, we've had some very strong winds over the last few weeks and they haven't budged.
