Did a search first...now asking here....
The water connection on the swim platform...355 Carver...Starboard side next to the storage locker...
If the water line is connected...does it also fill the hot water tank?
I'm thinking instead of filling the water tank....just connect the water line for use...does it also fill the water tank in the aft cabin below the bed?
Or...connecting the water hose...we will only have cold water and the water in the tank doesn't get used...
2nd question....
Already contacted 4 companies...all actually told me...not interested...because it's only 2 pilings...
Neighbor...needs 2 12" x 25' wood pilings removed and 2 installed..attached to his deck.
Has 5 pilings...3 are fine...
Any of you reading this know of any...companies you can recommend? Ft. Lauderdale.
I suppose...could replace 3...to intice a company...
2 contractors said...we have to bring our equipment over and 3 or 4 guys...remove the pilings and install 2....not worth the time and money...too small of a job.
Any recommendations for contractors?
Thank you and enjoy your day.

Re: Swim platform water connection question...and pilings...
Dockside water will provide water to your boats system including the water heater as it is part of the system, therefore you will have hot and cold water as usual like at home.....it will not fill the water storage tanks on your boat though unless a previous owner has added some piping and valves to do that.
The water pressure onboard will be whatever the dock is providing.....your onboard fresh water pump is not needed for this use.

FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Re: Swim platform water connection question...and pilings...
Assuming your 355 is just like my 356, the aft water connection does not fill the water tank. To fill the tank, you have a water access fill port on the port side next to your port fuel fill.
Yes, connecting shore water to your boat, water does go to the water heater. If the heater is empty, just turn on any hot water faucet so the air can escape and water can fill it up. Make sure you never turn on the water heater breaker unless you know the tank is full.

Re: Swim platform water connection question...and pilings...
If he has time to get this done and depending on where he is located..... He might consider talking to different companies and trying to arrange to have this done while they're enroute to returning from a different job where they would be passing by his location. I would imagine just a couple pilings wouldn't take that long and if they knew they could knock it out on their way to or from a job rather than dedicating a crew just to do this they might be able to do it for a reasonable price.benica wrote:QR_BBPOST

And he should consider if the old pilings really need to be removed, or can they just be cut off and the new pilings placed next to the old ones. I'd think pulling old pilings might be a big variable in what it takes to get them out.
