Engine Alarm: Normal Temp, Normal Oil pressure

This past weekend I took my 41 CMY out for a 20 mile trip. On the way home, I had an engine alarm go off on my port engine when I pushed the throttles up past 2800 RPM. I immediately shut it down and started looking things over. I got normal temps and oil pressure, so I started up again. As long as I stayed below 2500 RMP it was OK, no alarm. I tried throttling up again and same thing, after about 30 seconds the alarm went off. Came home at low RPM around 1800 RPM with no problems. I have Volvo D6 370s and the alarm on the led panel just said check manuel. I'm sure it must be something silly. I did have the oil and filters changed the week prior. To my knowledge there is no fuel leak. Anyone have this issue before? Dan Fuller 2008 41 CMY
