Anybody here ever drill holes in counter-top granite? I need to drill two 3/16" holes in my new granite counter top. I am worried about chipping as the bit starts it's hole. I could have my granite guy do it, or I could ask him, but don't want to bother him. I don't think he made any money on this job and he won;t take anymore since he "quoted me". Stand up guy, but I owe him. So any guidance on drilling into granite would be appreciated. I did search, and I found anything from using a hammer drill(!), to using a cermaic bit, a cement bit, a carbide tipped bit, and a carbide bit. Very definitive search. I am looking for first hand experiences only!
