Like the Carvers but I’m still learning about them. I believe this is the right place to learn.

Going to look at an ‘89 tomorrow.

Post Solar Generator / Freezer Experiment

Solar generator is a little confusing as it is basically a gas free generator running off of a built in lithium battery with a pure sine wave inverter and AC charger and a bunch of other stuff all in a neat package. Much prefer the term Portable Power Station. Guessing the Solar part makes is sound more ecological. By no means are these things affordable by the way. The amazing part of this particular unit is it does pack 2000wh and yet can be recharged on an electrical outlet in a ...

Post LAUNCH!

Today was launch day. I wanted to bribing her home to my marina, but storage marina said they did not finish their work. So reluctantly I agreed to let them finish up so I wouldn’t need to take over their work. Leaks checked for by the yard, and in we went and into a slip. Admiral and I went back 3 hours later as I always want to check things, and i was surprised to see the port shaft dripping, and the starboard with a good steady stream. In 3 hours, there was 5” in the starboard engine bilge. I ...

Post Crusader 454xl no start

Hey guys I'm stomped I'm thinking a carb rebuild? When I put fuel into the carb it tries to start. So I took a loose the fuel line from the pump to see if it was working.... And of course fuel came out at a pretty good speed. So the fuel pump is working but still no start.... Again if I put fuel in the carb it tries to start cuts off after a second. Any ideas?

Post Marine radio speaker options?

A friend's boat has a hailer on top of the radar arch and it has seen better days, what are some of the better choices? I see Shakespeare and other brands that I wouldn't use (Pyle and several off-brands) but really, have they improved over the decades?

Post dioes

On the electrical panel of my 1994 390 CPMY there are two diodes that light up or blink. on each 30A Carling breaker, They appear to run from ground to neutral. The diodes are about teh size of a dime and as stated, they are clamped in with the breaker screws that hold the wires to the breaker. Any idea of a source for these or what they are called or a part number?

Pic to follow in a day or so.

Post Windscreen removal on 3207

Hi All. First time Carver owner so I apologize if this question has been covered before. While I did a search on the forums , I'm in need of more specific information. I have a 1983 3207 aft cabin that is currently at a marina in Mystic Ct. that I need to transport home to the Sanford area in FL. Found a local transportation company here that can do the job and I will be heading up to Mystic next week, May 1st to prep the boat for transportation. Due to height I expected to have to remove canvas ...

Post New member and owner

Greetings All. Matt C. here and I've recently bought a 1983 3207 aft cabin that I am very much looking forward to enjoying with my 12 yo son. Other than the occasional pontoon rental on the ICW here in Florida and a short stint as a deckhand many years ago on a tug , my boating experience and knowledge is fairly limited, but look forward to learning with the goal of one day doing the Great Loop when my son graduates from HS. Delighted to have found a community of fellow owners and look forward ...

Post In-hull transducer / 03 Carver 444 or similar

Hey all,

I want to install a Garmin P79S in hull transducer on my 03 444. In looking at the specs it says not to install on cored hull or a hull that's over 5/8" thick,

I know these hulls have cored sides but not bottom, so that should be fine. Does anyone know the thickness? And has anyone installed a similar unit (I think most companies sell a version of the P79S) and had any performance issues?

Thanks in advance
