Post Bilge Pump Setup

I've been inspecting various systems on the boat and noted that the central bilge pump (near the middle of the boat) setup looks a little janky. I think I understand how this is supposed to work but is this normal? I would think an open container would be ineffective to actually contain liquids.

Post ANNUAL battery thread

On my 1994 390, I have a 12V start battery, 2 Trojan T105’s 6V (series connection) for house, and a 12V genset battery, all flooded. Bow thruster (Sideshifter) has 2 AGM 12V connected in series.

Connected batteries after the winter, they were at 93% last November. Connected they were showing 39%. Batteries are all 6 years old. I was going to replace the start, genset and house this year, as if you get stranded it is hard to rope start a 454.

Was looking at AGM, versus flooded. Opinions?

Post New Member/ New Owner

Hi, we are new to the forum and new boat owners. We purchased a 1984 Carver 3207 about a month ago from a family that had it as a family boat since they bought it. It was well cared for but we are looking forward to updating it and making it ours. There are definitely some things that need to be repair (port windows) and we are looking forward to learning our boat and learning from the group!

Post What model?

Hello all. I just purchased a 1981 23’ Carver. I’m trying to find out exactly what model it is. Someone has put stickers on the side that say “Montego”, but I’m just not sure. I’ve seen two brochures that list features for models. The description of the 2347 Offshore matches my boat more than the 2357 Montego. It talks about two removable transom storage wells, and that it sleeps two…. Where as the description of the Montego says it sleeps 4. There is no way 4 people can sleep in my cabi ...

Post transporting a carver 32 mariner

I live in the Portland Oregon area (Vancouver Wa). There is a 32 Mariner I am interested in up north near Seattle. Does anyone have experience with shipping by lo boy truck one of these ? With taking the windshield off can it be done ? The boats were delivered initially all over the country so there must be someone who knows the height and about how this was done. I would like to purchase one. If anyone has info please let me know mrheenan@comcast.net

Post First weekend on the boat coming up!

We purchased a 2000 Carver 396 with twin 454's in late January and have been redoing a lot of things. Our first weekend on board at LOTO with hopefully everything completed will be 4/29 and we are super excited! We fixed everything on the survey (work was minimal), new electronics/stereo, new LED's throughout the boat as well as under water, new bottom paint, Buff/wax, and new enclosure is being made as I type this. Just thought I would share how it turned out so far!

Post New Member

I have just registered here and thanks for making me a member. We have a pretty new to us1989 Carver Californian 48 motor yacht that we have spent 9 months refitting. We are getting ready to leave on the loop in August with a side trip to Knoxville, and Chattanooga. We are very excited to go. If anyone else is in the planning, in progress or done status I would love to hear your advice.
