Hello !

Post by Mariza »

Hi everyone, I'm Mariza! I'm so glad I stumbled upon this forum because, honestly, I felt like I was the only one in my circle this obsessed with Carvers. I’ve been eyeing a 396 Motor Yacht for a while now. I’ll admit I’ve spent weeks scrolling through photos, watching videos, and reading reviews from owners... but I always ended up on English-speaking forums where people don’t necessarily answer the kind of questions we have when we're based in France. So, here I am! Anyway, I find that flybridges on other brands are often either too basic or a total nightmare to handle solo... but in the Carver videos, it looks like they handle really well, even when the sea gets a bit choppy. I’m just wondering if I’m romanticizing it all from my perspective as a "landlubber" with a dream.
Because yeah, for now, I’m still at the "serious project but not yet an owner" stage. I'm trying to wrap my head around the practical stuff owners deal with every day. Winterizing, finding spare parts (which isn't always easy over here), the actual costs for a season... the kind of questions that are a bit less glamorous than the sunset photos. Can't wait to read your thoughts and learn from those who’ve already gotten their hands dirty (or dealt with the boat's wiring same difference!).
