Post Helm speaker volume low

On our 2006 Carver 36 MY , we have been adjusting the Clarion CMD4 head unit settings as well as the remote wired helm controller. It appears the fader set to all front is salon and helm. Fader all rear is aft bedroom only, but there's a knob in the aft bedroom to lower the aft stateroom volume even lower?

My question is why the helm speakers appear to be 50% less volume than the salon speakers when they appear to be joined/linked on the same volume control? Is there some other volume reduce ...

Post Replacment vinyl stripes

Anyone replaced their vinyl stripes? P.O. (first or second?) have removed much of the factory stripes from our 2006 Carver 36 MY. I've found some remining on the port side lower, that appears to be 3/4 or 1" black with 1/4 Gold on top, and a second 1/4 Gold above a 1/4 space.

Is there a "go-to" plce who supplies these stripe kits? or is it just automotive stuff? 3M from Wesco or someone similiar?

We'd like to replace the missing stripes, maybe skip going around the front salon window area? Just ...

Post Looking at the model 396.

I need to find out the true overall length. I’m in a 40’ slip and my marina is very strict about hanging out past the pier. I would also like any feedback on this model. Cruising speed, handling in real life conditions on Lake Michigan.

Post Refrigerator Question

Why does my refrigerator appear to still be on, not cooling just making noises, even though I have turned the temperature selector to the off position inside the fridg. The only way I can get the refrigerator to stop making noise is to turn the breaker off on the electrical panel. The problem is there is an outlet that powers a lamp that I use instead of the 12 V lighting that is on the refrigerator breaker. Is this normal?

Post Shore Power Question

Obviously there are two shore power outlets on our boat. My question is this, do both outlets have to be powered to power everything on the boat? Outlets, battery chargers etc... or is one of the outlets for those items and the other outlet is strictly for the air conditioning units? We bought this boat in October and it’s our first big boat. I’m in a heated storage so I spend at least one day or so a week out there customizing and just getting intimate with the boat. While I’m there I plug into ...

Post Raymarine C120 and Raymarine ST60 TriData

My wife and I have purchased a (new to us) 2006 Carver 36 MY equipped with Raymarine Electronics.

The first thing we noticed is the ST60 TriData speed display is "way off'" and in knots. what is the easiest way to set this to MPH and SOG? I'm assuming since the C120 shows GPS position along with radar that, we have SOG capability? how do I verify this?

So far we've been unable to get SOG to display on either the ST60 or the C120? while I like Garmin, i'm not ready to switch-out everything just ...

Post 2006 Carver 36 MY Generator use

Hello, I'm looking for a definitive answer as to "best practice" for generator operation for A/C heat pumps.

Our current temporary moorage only allows a single 30amp connection, so we have been forgoing the A/C heat pumps, all three, and just using an efficient ceramic heater in main salon. we'r moving in January to a Marina w/50amp service.

I have read numerous posts here, along with the PDF Owners manual (we're fist time Carver Yacht owners, recently acquired) but i'm still confused If I can "s ...

Post Water in bilge 3807

So we went to check in the boat today and do some odds and ends. I found the engine compartment had some water around the bilge pump. It’s not pumping in auto. I did find a broken wire laying in the water, but I don’t see a float switch. It’s an Attwood 1500 gph. Not sure why it’s not pumping in auto and not sure where the water is coming from. Both shafts drip a drop about every ten seconds from the packing. Is that normal? Should the bilge be dry? I’d say it was about 2 to 3 gallons over two ...

Post Malber P21 pump filter

My pump filter no longer seals when I screw it in. Can't imagine finding a replacement sealing ring so I am looking to replace the filter . Malber USA is no longer in existence. Can anyone tell me where I can find Malber parts. I've looked on eBay , Applianceparts.com and everywhere on the internet.
