Post Crusader 350 / 270 hp Temperature

Hi Folks,

What is the operating temperature range for a 350 Crusader / 270 hp with fresh water cooling? This is a new boat to me so I am not sure what is normal and what is not. I did a quick search under "temperature" but did not see the question previously asked.

Thanks for letting me tap into the wealth of knowledge here.

Post Princess Oven Element Not Working on 3 Burner Electric Stove

Question with regards to a Princess Oven. I have a 1987 32' Carver Aft Cabin, with original Princess 3 burner / electric stove oven. I live aboard her during the winter and when cooking noticed the oven element stopped working. My broiler element works fine and hear a click when I turn the oven setting from 450 to 500. I ordered a replacement oven heater element, connected and still the oven does not heat in the 200 - 450 settings. Any ideas. Is there a switch that engages when you close t ...

Post 1999 Carver 356 new owner

Hello everyone,

We took possession of the 356 last Saturday. Still poring through manuals and figuring out the systems. The previous owner kept wonderful records and was the first owner.

We thinking of naming the boat Vader. Since we have been sailors for over 20 years our sailing friends think we have gone to the Dark Side.

My wife is worried the name will offend pure motor boaters, but I tell her it is a conversion starter.

What does the forum think?

Look forward to collaborating wi ...

Post outside seat as refrigerator

Hi. We recently bought a Carver 35 and would love to find out if anyone has converted any of the seats in cockpit into a refrigerator or put some insulation to use as cooler? It would be a great use of space!

Post Voyager Davit

Hello all. We've recently bought a 98 voyager 45', and upon trying to operate the davit, nothing happened. I made sure the remote was plugged in tightly but it was locked in. Any tips on making this thing work? It is a Marquipt davit but I can't find any more specific info. The only switch on the boat I can find is a fuse reset in the engine room and it did nothing. Previous owner said it worked fine so I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

Post Carver 396 - running speaker wires

Hi All,

I was attempting to run new speaker wires from an amp to my read hard deck. Pulled apart every access panel I could find, thought I saw a clear pathway, however there doesn't appear to be any raceway between the wing going up and the hard deck. Looks like the current wiring all enters from underneath and that looks like a real bugger.
Anyone else have issues or suggestions? MY guess is this could be true for many models.

Thanks!

Post AC water pump over running

When I winterized my boat this winter I accidentally let a air gap into the line, afterwards the AC pump now continues to run weather the heat/AC are running or not. Both Heat and AC both still work normally other than the water pump starts running when the AC breaker is turned on and continues to run until the switch is turned off. I'm guessing a stuck relay, so I took the cover off the relay board and lightly taps each relay hoping to release them if that was the problem ( didn't work) I hav ...

Post 1998 Mariner gas tank removal (video)

Hello guys/gals, due to a fuel leek I have been forced to remove the starboard gas tank. I have found that the best / fastest way to remove is through the cabin. I'll be uploading two or three videos, first will be the safe way to cut the cabin walls then the second video (few weeks) will show the repair process. I'm not the best video editor nor narrative person, but I hope my pain will benefit the next person in line. BTW. The couch seat will hide everything, I will also show the best way to ...
