Post Anchor Roller
- Posted by: bobfino » November 11th, 2015, 8:59 am
- Forum: The Project Center
Hello, on my 2005 39MY the anchor roller is very dull looking. I have noticed that on similar Carvers of the same year they all look the same. Has anybody tried removing these and polishing them to have a nicer finish?
Thanks

Post installing a generator

Hi I'm installing a cummings onan 11kw genset in my carver 3608. I've noticed a spare sea cock blanked on port side which I presume is for the raw water intake I am wondering did the generator have its own exhaust outlet through the hull via a skin fitting or through one of the existing exhausts. Any info or pictures would be appreciated. Regards lee

Post Help!!! Need info on 2005 Carver 33 SS

Hi all,
My wife and I are seriously looking at a 05 Carver - 33 SS. I have a huge concern and hopefully I can get some opinions from some of you. We absolutely love the layout of this boat. It is designed into basically 3 zones and we love that. 1. entertaining 2. cooking/dining 3. sleeping/head area. Our concern (and its a big one) is the v-berth bed. When you lay on that bed with your head forward toward the V (which is the way it is designed) it is so tight that your nose has about 6 or 8 inc ...

Post Sliding salon door - 325 Carver aft cabin

How do you remove the salon door on a 1996 Carver 325 to replace the rollers at the bottom track? Does the fixed track that extends across the width of the salon window need to be removed or is can the bottom of the door be removed where the rollers are attached?

Does anyone know how many gallons of antifreeze it takes to winterize each engine's seawater side from the thru-hull to the exhaust on my 2000 405 with 7.4 Mercruisers?

Feez suggested I post this, had to wait until I was up and on the hard for pics.
Last winter I installed 4 Ocean LEDS. I bought the highest lumen rating they had at 1400. They are all aluminum castings with 5 bulbs inside. The great thing about these lights is that they are quality made in USA. These are by far the brightest lights I have seen in any boat. Anchored in the clear water at Beckwith Island, Georgian Bay, I throw light an easy 100ft behind my boat.
Super easy instal ...

After a year long project, I have my steps mounted on the swim platform. Need to add a step into the transom and finish bending and welding the railings after that. But the majority of my project is complete.

I have what appears to be a broken dimmer switch in the Master cabin located on the Port side of the stateroom. The switch is located to the rear of the closet on the Port side next to the AC/Heat control head. I cannot figure out what this switch controls. Any assistance would surely be welcomed.

Post Oil Type
- Posted by: Terra Nova » November 4th, 2015, 10:23 am
- Forum: Gas Engines/Transmissions
I have twin 5.7 litre merc cruiser engines. Thunderbolt ignition. I bought the boat used and the former owner who had it for 18 years has always used 30W non-detergent oil on the engines. Mechanic recommendations are 25W40. Does anybody know if there would be any issues with switching to the 25W40 oil now?
