1977 Carver 2276 sink water stoage

Postby sdsurf » January 26th, 2025, 9:38 am

Good Morning

I have a 1977 Carver 2276 in great condition but missing a few items. It has two sinks, one in the Galley and one in the head. I am missing both water tanks for those. Any idea of what they would be or are spec'd? If not original, what would work...

If your talking fresh water they would not generally have separate water tanks. There could be 2 but they would most likely be plumbed together. Otherwise there would be 2 water pumps fills and vents. Have you traced the water lines to the bilges, find your water pump or searched your water fill to some point where a tank would be? If there's not physically one there I would measure the area and look online for a poly tank that would fit in the spot and plumb it in.
If waste water then those would be discharged overboard directly or through a sump pump

If you do end up needing a tank (or two), make sure you check out greatlakesskipper site. They have tanks from various manufacturers and might have a size that would work for you. They were significantly less expensive than other sources when I needed to replace a couple tanks a few years ago.
