QR_BBPOST Actually a carver 405 and probably others has a seperate breakers for the auto and manual circuits on the pumps.

My older 3607 is setup the same way. Two breakers for each pump. They are both in the main panel, but one set is fed directly from the #1 post on the battery switch and the other is fed from the main DC panel. This also means the auto is fed from the #1 engine battery (regardless of switch position) but the manual is fed from the house battery.

Consensus .....mine is the same.......

Okay I ordered a new Rule 1500 which is what I replaced with the 2000..
I will replace it and see if the breskers still throw.
Hopefully i do not need to rewire alot.

So first why so much water? I'd find the source. Second if you look at the specs between the 1500 gph and the 2000 gph Rule pumps you will notice the amp draw is twice as much. The 2000 gph requires a 15amp breaker were the 1500 gph requires a 7.5amp breaker! Another possible cause could be that the discharge hose and thru haul are not of a big enough diameter to move enough water and cause a strain on the pump. IMO

So here is the update...

Starboard packing gland is leaking or should I say dripping the water. Prior owner left me 3 pipe wrenches and the special tool wrench to tighten the gland coupler up. Lol This was also discovered on the survey and part of the $12,000 in repairs that was to be done. It did not happen.

So after owning the boat for a few months and putting 75 hours on it since my purchase (at 435 hrs currently). I have learned a lot but still a novice by all means. I can tighten the gland and the water stops dripping until I take the boat out, then it starts back 1 drip per second. No drip from the port side and no issues. Yes I understand they should drip some but I would prefer no drip at all. So I probably will replace both with dripless glands if that is possible.

Generator thruhull turned off to test, then back on and I only get a water leak from it while running but I haven't worked on it yet. So that is a project for another day.

I have purchased 1 new Rule 1500 pump and I am going to replace the forward pump with it first and check to see if my breaker issue goes away. Then replace the other 2 if it does. Probably put the 3 Rule 2000 bilges on Ebay unless someone wants them here. 3 months old so they cant be hurt. Right?

Currently got the 1998 tv in the living room out if anyone wants it, just pay shipping. Lol
I am installing a small 32 inch Vizio in this compartment with a full motion arm to the backerboard. Just not sure a 43 would be supported but I know the 55 inch I initially purchased was too big for the area and distance from the sofa. Might try a 43 and put the 32 vizio above the ice maker on the aft deck?

I am only 15 minutes from my boat now. I stop by almost every day but never more than two days goes by. Took her out Sunday and she got 4600 rpms briefly on the starboard engine and 4400 rpms on the port. Yes 200 rpms is nothing. It is knowing the port injectors haven't been replaced like I did the starboard engine before I left TX.

She seems to be getting better with each trip out. I normally just cruise around now at 6 to 9 mph and 2000 rpms. I have to remind myself these 7.4 Merc 454's are 20 years old but with 165 lb compressions at survey.
