Re: New to Carver Yacht Owners
During the time on the boat, I know it needed to be cleaned. However their was a strong odor present that I initially thought was coming from the septic system. Later dampness and minimal mold was found to be entering from around the starboard salon window. The smell even permeated through my duffell bag to transfer the odor onto clean items brought aboard for the trip. I plan to de-humidify, ionize, and baking soda the boat later this week with a deserved exterior cleaning as well. I am looking for recommendations from experience on this forum of what could be causing the odor, and how to prevent it and freshen it up.
Additionally, I need to replace the sea water pump on the 7.0 BCG Westerbeke as it appears the seal was leaking during operation. Any recommendations for a decent replacement seller with reasonable prices would be welcomed.
