Removing Sectional in 3807

Postby Matt1989Carver3807 » March 20th, 2019, 12:40 am

Hi I have a 1989 3807 Aft Cabin and I need to remove the Sectional couch any ideas- too big to fit through the doors.

Any help would be great.

Matt

Different boat, but when we had the 4207, I needed to change the fridge. The door was not big enough. However, by taking the door frame completely out, I was able to get the old fridge out and the new one in.
My second choice was take the cabin window out and go that way.
Have you looked on the bottom side of the sections - maybe the backs unbolt from the bottom or the back?

Maybe one of those will work for you.
Thanks
Fred

Thanks Fred,

It looks like I would have to take the fabric off in order to see if it unbolts in anyway, I cant see anything externally. I'm guessing that if i have to go that route I may just pay the exrta $ to have it re-upholstered on board. I let you know how that goes!.

Carver got it in there somehow. Maybe give them a call and provide your HIN.
Thanks

Along the same lines. How do I get the swivel chair out of my 356? The tape measure, entrance and chair disagree. Do I dismantle it.
Thank you for the help!

For most of the furniture, if you flip it over, cut out the bottom cloth. Cut near the outside edges, giving you enough room to staple it back in. You can then dissemble the furniture to make it through the doors, have it recovered, move back in and reassemble.
This works in most cases.

Also have 3807. I just did a complete interior remodel bulkheads, flooring and couch. The quality of the original sectional is not worth recovering. Check out homereserve.com. Or buy a couch that has a back that comes off. This will allow you to go thru the door.

Hey I really appreciate the input, I will check out the Homereserve website, and I think your right the original is heavy and a little beat. I would certainly like to see what they have.

Thanks again.
