Understanding The Word Cockpit In A Boat
Carver and most other manufactures sell cockpit motor yachts which refer to a rear extension of the boat or at least this is something I have just assumed over the years. I did a little research and found cockpit was in fact a sunken area in the aft for crew members.
Just thought this was interesting since the word cockpit on a boat has always been a little confusing for me as to why? Now I know.

Or do I know?

I'll give you a hint, it goes cock-a-doodle-doo and impregnates hens. Can you guess now?
