I have checked through manual that came with the boat but doesn't mention grade of just that it needs to be checked. I would be grateful if someone on here could answer this question. Thanks
My advice , get the serial number and model number off the trans I.D. plate and e mail the manufacturer to ask what oil/fluid they installed from new around 2000. They are straight drives , correct?

Re: 2000 374 carver gear oil
To add to the above.....it is important to use the correct compatible fluids in these applications. Over time builders change their specs and shaft seal etc materials which can be affected by different fluids. Some fluids have seal conditioners etc to help performance to stop leaks, perhaps a different viscosity etc.
That is the reason to get what the manufacturer of the unit recommends for those year builds.
