Postby gwhynot » April 13th, 2022, 6:45 am

Good morning,
On the rear deck there are plastic panels, and they seem to be held in by a plastic pop rivet mine are corroded and some are missing any Idea where I can get them?
Thanks in advance

Welcome aboard.
I think this is what you need but you'll have to confirm the diameter and length. You can probably find them cheaper from a large on-line hardware supplier....

plastic pop rivet mine are corroded

Hmmm, scratching my head on that one. Regardless, there are many choices out there in plastic as well as stainless steel or aluminum. A quick search on Amazon should bring up several choices. ;-)

My 97 405 also uses the plastic rivets make sure you do secure the panels somehow because oem replacement panels will be impossible to find. whats used to fix youll have to try and match color. Theres posts on here about people having issues with missing panels. I have replaced some of mine with stainless screws and nuts drilled through the stainless I just don't trust the rivets.

If you want to go with plastic, here is the product I used before on a 355. Same as the Amazon one listed above but from the AP website. Again, check your size first to confirm...

Viper, the ones for my 355 are 1 1/2 long. The 1" don't quite make it.

These are the ones I have left over from the last job I did. Maybe it depends on the length of the plastic standoffs they used for a particular build because I'm sure I've seen a couple of different sizes. That's why I recommended checking the length first.
