Volvo Penta 8.1l Gi-F light load miss fix
It would run smooth for a bit, then rough, then smooth. I initially thought we'd sucked up some residual water in the fuel tank, and has it trapped in the filter from our most recent fillup.
After we came back, I decided to pull spark plugs to get a read on their condition. Turns out they were OEM from 2006, with 270hrs, and one has cracked insulator. A quick trip to auto parts store got me a new set of exact replacements.
Now a much smoother running motor!

41-983 AC Delco platinum plugs where installed OEM by Volvo Penta. These were readily available at O'Reilly autoparts. Since they went 14yrs, I'm hoping the replacements go another +7yrs. No rust on the OEM plugs.

I know right! Two PO's and no change, plus we paid for motor inspection, who said they pulled the plugs, but no mention of the cracked one...that had grease in it!I
In thinking I should have bumped up one heat range,as they were carboned up a bit. We'll see.
