396 Upper Rear deck furniture

Post by hgm »

We have a new to us 2000 396 Motor Yacht. We are trying to decide on furniture. What have other owners done? Anything we should avoid?
Thanks

Guess it all depends on how u plan to spend ur time on the boat and what ever u choose it doesn't block ur access to the use of the rear stairs and side doors. Seen folding chairs and wicker cushioned furniture too. Maybe u can get some ideas by looking at other 396's for sale and see what they have on the back deck for some ideas. Mike

I agree with Mike, it really is a personal thing. In my case, I prefer chairs that fold, either marine or residential will work. While our table doesn't fold completely, it's a boat table who's leafs fold down. The ability to fold these items makes for easy storage off season when I pile a bunch of other items on the aft deck for the winter. My little guy had a bunch of friends over one weekend and we managed to clear enough floor space by folding everything which gave us additional sleeping space (what a weekend that was :banghead: ) If you're concerned with theft during and off season, they can be folded and stored in the cabin as well.
