3607 aft cabin mattress

Postby Ruthietea » March 11th, 2017, 3:16 pm

I am buying a 1988, 3607 aft cabin. It is 500 Miles away, so I can't go measure myself. It is in storage and the owner can't do it either. I want to bring a mattress with us when we pick it up to pilot it home. My question is, is it queen size? If it isn't, does anyone have the actual dimensions?
Thanks

We have a 3607 as well and I believe the mattress is queen size wide but not long and is curved on the ends. It is custom made by original mattress factory. I can get measurements for you next time I go down to my boat this Wednesday.-Tim.

It is technically a queen, but at MakinTime says, it's customized. The foot end of the bed is only about 4' wide, whereas the headboard end is 60". The sides begin to angle in starting about 2' from the headboard.

We took our old one to a local foam shop (thefoamfactory) and had them cut new foam to fit. If I did it again, I would use two layers of foam... the top half less dense than the bottom half. They could have done that the first time but I thought just new foam would be fine. It is so much better than the original though.

Km, what mattress did you get from the foam factory? Just regular foam or the latex?

Just regular foam but it was a higher density. It's been a long time, but I think it was a "3" or "4" on their scale.

I know this is a Canadian company but they manufactured mattresses directly for builders when they were made in Canada.

Check out the link, maybe they can help in some way.....

I am about to replace my 3607 aft cabin mattress. But the boat is in Canada and I live in Texas.
Just went through my Carver manual - no measurements for the aft cabin bed.

Can anyone send me the correct bed dimensions so I can order before launch time?

It's a complicated size. Almost a normal queen size at the top, but tapers down at the foot with two larger radii. If I had known you were looking I could have taken accurate measurements last weekend when I was out there.

(when I first read your post, I thought you said "so I can order before LUNCH time. ;) )
