There should be two. One that carries the starting current from the battery, that gets connected to the battery (and in this case, via the negative buss bar). The other "ground" is the BONDING wire, which should connect all thru-hull-connected devices (engines, rudders, etc) AND ALL A.C. generating devices as a safety ground. The first wire should be rated to handle all the starting currents, the second AT LEAST as large as the A.C. output is capable of.

Feez, where did you place this house bank of 4 batteries?? Same setup I am looking to build.

Frazer, help me out with the Victron energy monitor location? I am awhere of the meters on the electrical panel. I do not know of a DC load monitor? Need help

No worries!! I actually like the fact that some of these topics take a life of their own.

The Victron monitors the Voltage, Amperage flow (-/+), Stage of charge, and the number of amp hours consumed from the battery bank.

Here is a pic of the setup. Cleaning up a the wiring this year and building a battery box. It is messy at the moment but I am getting there!!! :beergood:
