Hello Folks
I am Dennis and I was wondering if anyone knows the color white used on the hull of the 1987 Carver 3257 Montego. I am refurbishing Her and need to paint the hull over. I believe someone told me once it was Carver simple white or something like that. any information would be greatly appreciated.. Just finished repairing and painting bottom. Thanks in advance for any help.

The official Carver name for the color is "Pure White". Although, if you put white up against it, it will look a little grey. Spectrum color will have the gelcoat, or, if you want to paint it, a paint shop can scan the hull and mix you the proper color

Why are you painting?? Has it been determined that the gel coat can't be brought back? It has to be in pretty bad shape for it to be condemned. If it's beyond an aggressive polish, usually a wet sand and polish will bring a lasting shine back providing the gel isn't so thin that you'll end up sanding through it. I'm not a big fan of painting or applying coats of any kind unless an effort has been made to save the gel coat.
