Alter window on arch

Post by bobfino »

Hello, I have a 2005 Carver 39MY. On the bridge there is an arch that has a fixed window in it. I was looking for a window shop that could make this into a sliding window for additional ventilation and easy access on to the top of the sun deck for repairs or simply changing a light bulb. Has anybody done this project before? And if so what was involved?

Thanks
Bob

Interesting idea. I have always secured a ladder to the walk across above the swim platform while I am in the shed for the winter. This is the only way I can come up with to compound, wax, and deal with electronics up there. (I use a body harness connected to the hardtop lifting eyes just in case my wax job is too good.)

Hi Dan, Excellent idea about the harness, when your up there it does seem pretty high. Looking at the thickness of where the window is seated, I have to believe it can be done. Just haven't found the shop or person willing to take it on. Mostly because of the lack of access. My top is in need of compound and wax. I will continue to search out that person. Thanks for the response. Bob
