Boarding Stairway

Post by dsolo »

Built a staircase for boarding the 405 Carver. Water is high and fixed docks are 12 " above water. Needed 48" to board side entry. Very lite weight, but also strong.

Nice work..I did one like it with two steps and I used the box created by the steps as a storage box to house cleaning supply and wax/rags etc. Both steps were hinged to facillitate access.
Have had it now for two years both in the cockpit and on the dock for boarding.

I wish I could have done the same. At 48" I had to watch the weight. I added two 3" wheels to the back to aid in the transport to my slip. I rotate the unit to ride on the wheels and push it along like a wheelbarrow. It's quite a hike.
Fortunately I have a large dock box for storing the supplies for maintenance.
