dsolo wrote:Qr Bbpost Following up on this post. Found the terminals heavily corroded. Scrapped and cleaned with contact cleaner. Adjusted the two pots back and forth. Had no effect on meter. Measured+12 vdc on power terminal and +8 vdc on other terminal. Adjusting pots did not vary voltage (+8vdc)

Does any know the mfg'r of this unit? Thanks

I know we are talking about two different models and years, but on our boat the gage itself has its own on /off switch on the 12v panel....this has to be on to get a reading on the gage and adjust it....that being said it has taken a few cycles to get it to read right....seems very touchy.....sounds like you have power to the tank though.....check at the gage itself.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Sounds like you're describing a Centroid sender. If so, give them a call, they've been helpful for me in the past.

Thanks Viper, I found the Carver part number. I will call Peter tomorrow to get the mfg'r and part number. I do hope it is the Centroid, always like a manufacturer who supports their users. Will update once solved.

Ours works one day and not the next. Thinking may have to take the sending unit out and soak it in vinegar! Have the same meter readings u had at the sender and at the gauge.

I had a similar problem on my 1994 370 Aft cabin - took the sending unit out of the tank and de-limed it with some CLR, reinstalled and works fine now. Tore my hair out trying to figure out why meter worked sometimes and other times it was 'dead'. Finally traced the supply back to the voltmeter switches by the main DC battery switch. Inline fuse AFTER the voltmeter switch for starboard battery. ????
