Norcold Frig Parts - free!

Post by SplashyLady »

I'm replacing the original 7 cu ft Norcold DE-461/DE-561 Frig on my 3227 with a nice, new, expensive DE-0061R . This is the larger frig used on 3227/3007/3207/3607 models. I would be happy to give away any parts that someone needs for their frig - shelves, drawers, doors, etc. You just pay the shipping/freight. Send a message and let me know what you need - I can send you a pic back and you decide it you want it...

I think I have a 461 but I have to check. I might be interested at least in a few of those door pockets.

Also might be interested in the electronics.

What is/was wrong with it to cause you to replace it?

There's a plastic "T" clip, pin, and base that clips between the two doors to hold them tightly closed. I'd love to have that entire assembly as a portion of mine is broken!

The locking "T" pin? I'll snap a pic for you later today. Mine is also broken on one side, but I think they are reversible.

Freon was R22 and went down so it would not stay cool. It's also a 25 year old frig and the Admiral wanted something that looked prettier. :worthy:

So my Norcold DE-461 finally bit it after 24 years. (Compressor is dead and though I could get it rebuilt by a local company I've decided to go with a new refrigerator.)

Following-up on SPlashyLady's post. If you need a part let me know. I pulled everything off except the case and compressor. Same terms, just let me know if you need anything.

Look into buying the optional cooling kit for your new refrigerator.
I did not learn the hard way but a buddy did. Bought a second brand new one less than a year later, the second time with the cooling fan and extra vents.
Thanks

Thanks Fred, I reached out to defender, where I'm ordering the fridge, to see about the optional cooling kit. I couldn't find it in the Vitrifrigo catalog.

I have one of these 461's. If you have the control module, thermostat and power supply, I'd be interested just in case mine doesn't last. I might even be interested in a couple short door bins too.
