Just bought a 1994 Carver 360 ... with an aft cabin...great boat! I need to move it from where it is on Bainbridge island WA to Portland OR . Its 5 full days by water including 2 days and 165 NM in the Pacific Ocean ...No thanks
The plan is to transport it by semi truck and low boy trailer.
Here is the problem: This boat stands very tall and I need to deconstruct it so that it is 14' max height ...Certainly someone here has some experience doing this or has had to transport their boat by truck. Need to know how easy the fly bridge is going to come off or if anyone has any other tips pointers or advice ...Thank you
Any good transporter will be able to help u with that. The other options is hire a captain and crew to move it.

I have dont have experience removing an arch, but I never heard of good things. The removal isn't the problem, it is getting everything hooked back up.
I moved from 29' from S FL to Gulf coast of Alabama, but thankfully radar dome was just at the 13' 6" allowed.
Good luck with the move and congrats on the purchase! Let me know if you would like me to drive the boat down the coast for you !! I wasnt joking.
I think it would be much simpler to run the boat to its new home on the water. Nothing to take apart and put back together. It could be one of those trips of a lifetime and a lot of good memories.
I know it I were in your boatshoes I would want to make the trip via the waterways.

I was in Chattanooga when I bought my 360SS that was in Hendersonville TN (just north of Nashville). We were looking at options, drive it back on the Cumberland/Tennessee or have it taken apart and trucked back. Either way the cost in dollars was about the same. We didn't really have the time, but in the end, we ended up leaving the boat where it was and selling our home in Chattanooga and moving to Hendersonville.
I know that's not any help, but just to let you know, sometime other options open up!

I can't speak to the ocean up north, but when we were living in California, we kept our 2807 in Ventura and took an extended trip to San Diego and back.
Wasn't much different than Lake Michigan other than the waves were predictable, measured, and reported with the NOAA Marine Broadcast.

Newbie here and curious as to what you decided. I have a 4207 in Minneapolis that I want to ship to Seattle. I found a couple of different transporters, but I am faced with the same problem. Flybridge / controls, etc.
If you are on Bainbridge, just bring it over to my slip in Lake Union and we'll give it a go!
As per your requirements, it would be good to transport your boat through a boat transportation company. I say this because they are experienced and know the do’s and don’t while transporting. They even will provide you with best possible mechanisms with latest equipments available. So just a suggestion, try opting for this.
