Re: Carberator
hard to say what carb you have since the flame arrestor is covering it. why do you think you need carb rebuilt? what is it doing?. if you want to keep cost down you can do it yourself, theres really not much there to clean and rebuild or take yours to a place local to you most likely a garage by you that can do it or tell you where to go and have them rebuild it probably cheaper than purchasing a rebuilt one.

Re: Carberator
Looks like a Rochester Quadrajet. You can replace it or get it rebuilt by a good carb shop. I would suggest rebuild, but Q-Jets are tricky, so unless you are pretty good, don't try it yourself. Getting all the jets and metering rods right can be difficult, but you won't have to worry about that with a rebuild, because they will keep the same setup. Q-Jet overhaul is not easy, so expect to pay $150-$200 for a quality rebuild - and don't go to a shade tree guy on this - find someone who knows how to overhaul a Quadrajet.
Also, there is usually a metal tag under one of the screws on the top of the carburetor. That tag has a number on it that tells you the specific model of carburetor - you can usually get an exact match if you have the number. If you decide on a replacement, expect to pay around $250 for a rebuilt, and $350-$400 for a new marine carburetor. Note it is important to get the marine version for your boat!

Hope this helps - good luck!

Re: Carberator
Definitely make sure you replace with marine quadrajets or marine overhaul kits there is a difference from the auto quadrajet. I have seen people on auction sites trying to pass off auto as marine!! As said previously check the numbers.

Re: Carberator
CoreDuo; U may be better off buying new carbs if your carbs are very old. The cross shafts tend to wear out and leak thus not worth rebuilding.
