Hello everyone.
Does anyone know if a remote belt driven raw water pump is available for the Cummins 5.9 BT6 Diesel engine.
I have no trouble changing the starboard engine pump but cannot get to the port engine pump on my 405, just not enough space between engine and fuel tank. Have thought of squeezing under the engine from the front but don't know if I will ever get out.
Would be grateful for any help.

Bet you have a few words for the engineer that designed that installation!

Re: 405 Raw Water Pump
Just a suggestion.....See if you can contact Sherwood pumps and see if they have a retrofit for your application...maybe crank driven could be a possibility...
On a lighter note you could maybe hire E.T.....3 ft tall and 5 ft arms...I'm kidding.....

FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Re: 405 Raw Water Pump
Trouble is I am 6'4 and 300 pounds, never going to get in that space.
I have noticed fixings holes in the block near the fuel manifold, if I source a belt driven pump and mount it on a bracket here and change the crank belt pulley for a double unit might be able to drive it from there. I will speak to Sherwood as you suggest.
Also can't believe you have to raise the engine on the mounts to remove the pump.

Garry, You will be surprised at what you can do once you dive in there and start looking around. Just wear jeans and I had some fluid absorbent pads that make excellent knee pads.
Im 6'4 and 240+ lbs. I had no trouble getting in there. Getting out was a problem when my legs turned to jelly from all the cramps.

Thanks hausherrs, will try it with the knee pads and a cell phone within reach in case I get stuck.
