Running wire in a Mariner 350

Post by SanJuanDreamer »

I have a 98 Mariner 350 and I need to run wire from the engine compartment to the bridge.
Has anyone with a Mariner ran wire before?
If so, how did you get the wire up to the bridge?

Sorry, I have not actually done this but have had all the panels open to see how I would do it if I had to ( thinking of a data bus instal )there appears to be two routes ,one thru the wiring run in the bilge ( access from engine room and from under dinette seats) then over behind the entertainment centre , from there easy up to bridge by helm seat under stbd. panel switches.......the other would be down the stbd. side behind the couch seating, there are removable panels, then behind entertainment centre again...... :beergood:
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Ok, I'm running wire from a bilge sensor which is located below the engines on a 98 Mariner 350.
Looking at the SB side arch, there are two rectangle access plates, which allow access to the arch base bolts....I have two additional round access plates very near to them.
Opening the round ones, I found a 4in PVC pipe that goes under the arch base going forward to the second round access plate.
Inside the pipe were wires from the engine compartment.
At the forward round access plate, to the left was an opening to the upper part of the entertainment area.
Ran the wire over the top boards of the entertainment area and there was another opening where it opened under the captains chair.

Hope this makes sense...
