“Refer” breaker

What might the circuit breaker that is labeled “Refer” power? I thought it may be the refrigerator but don’t believe that is it because it keeps running when I switch it off. Couldn’t find it in the manual, and searched online with no success.

Anyone else know what it is?

Kind of a dumb question I guess, but looked at sources and couldn’t find anything.

Even if you switch the "refer" off, it will automatically revert to 12v dc power and continue to run just like when you disconnect from shore power. Only way to turn off the fridge entirely is via the thermostat control inside the door.

You may also have the refer breaker on your DC panel which will also turn the fridge off entirely if used in conjunction with the AC breaker.

I'm guessing it's the 'refer' breaker on the DC panel. If you turn this off then the refridgerator will not run on DC. It should automatically switch to DC when the refridgerator loses AC power, either because the AC breaker is turned off, the main is turned off, or the boat no longer has AC available (disconnect shore power, or genset stops running).

Yep, you've got 2 breakers...one on the AC panel and one on the DC panel. Both have to be turned off to shut off the frig.

The Refer breaker is a DC breaker. The AC panel does not have a breaker labeled Refer). When I toook a look at the electric control unit under the fridge I didn’t see an AC connection. I will have to revisit that. When I get to the boat later today, I will cut shore power then cut the Refer breaker off to see if the fridge cuts off.

The fridge is a Nova Kool (9200 I think). Thanks for the suggestions and I will report back what I find.

The refer breaker on the DC panel kills the 12volt feed.....the fridge will be plugged into one of the AC circuits, you can shut them off one by one to fine the one......like Hans said there should be the fridge control with a small light that will shut off the fridge ......

Ok. Finally made it down to take a look and Bud was right. Refer breaker (DC) and galley outlets (AC) are the two. Also cut my fridge back to 2 on the thermostat and that reduced the time the fridge ran. Next project there is to pull it and clean behind it. Thanks for the help for an obvious solution I was struggling with.
