New Owner Carver 3207 in the UK
Just saying Hi to all.
I have recently bought a Carver 3207 Aft Cabin with twin Volvo Penta power.
The boat is a 1989 aft cabin model with double berth, so I guess maybe an early 1990.
She was bought new here in the UK, and has had very little use over the years. Engine hrs are 1100.
We are currently berthed inland at York Marina on the river Ouse.
Whilst she has been little used, we have bought her with a few gremlins.
Most are to do with the electrical system, (Batteries) which due to lack of use are about shot.
The heating system, (needed over here) is a Erberspacher hot air, and looking at the maintenance history has had a lot of money spent on it, and is still very problematical. So that is due to be removed and replaced with a Webasto system.
Finally the trim tabs do not appear to work, but then not essential, on reach we are on the max speed is 6knts, so will only be required when we finally take to open water.
Any information on how the trim tabs work, if there is and if so where is the breaker for the trim tabs.
Apart from that she is in good order, and looking forward to putting a few more hours on her.
Eventually we would like to cruise to the med in her.
Dave

I'm curious, does that boat have a positive ground?? NOBODY understands those things!!!
J/K!!
There should be a breaker in the electrical panel for the trim tab system, but I believe there is also a fuse back near the pump, which should be under one of the aft bunks. Connections and wiring are typically the culprit but you could have a failed pump too. Are they Bennett trim tabs? If so, there's a great troubleshooting document out there, I'd just have to find the link somewhere.

Re: New Owner Carver 3207 in the UK
Welcome Aboard from the former colonies. I have a 3007 a slightly smaller sister to your boat. Hope you get rid of all the gremlins. They can be a pain in the behind to find and fix but once you do you will have a fine boat. Best of luck and hopes that you always find fair seas and calm winds.

The 3207 is a great boat - nice size and excellent space utilization. Bennett Marine is great at customer support. Contact Tom the Tabman through one of these sites:
