Heating
We own a 2003 Carver 564. Yacht has four ac/heat air handlers in the main cabin. All operate of a single raw water pump. We have two compressors in the engine room. Is it normal for the water pump and subsequently the compressors to come on only if the main salon is calling for heat. When the forward cabin and master cabin calls for heat, the compressor does not come on until the main salon compressor comes on.

Re: Heating
That does not sound correct. If any of the thermostats call for heat, the accompanying compressor as well as the common water pump should come on.
I would think the compressors would be separated from each other on their own thermostats.
It is common to have one pump; when either or both copmpressors run, the pump runs.

Re: Heating
Crusair visited me last week. This is what we found.
The mail salon compressor does work as a ac/reverse heat unit and such the water pump kicks on appropriately when calling for heat or ac.
The bow bedroom and master bedroom compressor is not a reverse cycle unit. It only works to provide air conditioning. When in the heat mode, the master bedroom and bow bedroom have a coiled heating in the air handler. That is why I was getting heat and the compressor and raw water pump was not on.

Re: Heating
So Carver installed resistance heating coils in the boat? Doesn't seem kosher. But it is what it is.
Thanks
