Carver 445

I just bought a 1999 445 and the boat is 500 miles from me so I can't answer this question.
Do these boats come from Carver with a isolation transformer?
And where is it located?

Congrats on the purchase! Don't know the 445 but my '99 404 does not have an isolation transformer. It does however have a galvanic isolator on the shore power ground lead. It is located inside the AC power panel.

To add to what Aaron said....I doubt it but you never know what previous owner has done.....you should have galvanic isolator though according to specs..

Thanks for the reply.
My understanding is the isolation transformer/booster help boost and maintain proper or close to proper voltage, thus protecting sensitive electronics such as the AC units that do not like voltage much below 95 volts.
It also protests the 110 v refrigerator and microwave again neither of which do not like low voltage.

Only if it's an isolator/booster (isoboost). If it's just an isolation transformer, it's only designed to isolate ship's AC from shore power AC in that there is no direct electrical connection, rather it's an electromagnetic connection through a transformer. This eliminates the need for galvanic isolators because it isolates the grounds anyway, reduces the risk of electrical shock in the water, etc. Since a galvanic isolator is standard equipment, I don't think they would install an isolation transformer also unless there was a specific request for an isolation transformer only when she was built. And as mentioned above, you never know what a previous owner might have installed later.
