My lady and I have been looking for a retirement boat for the last two years. We keep falling in love with Carvers. We will be taking the plung in a few months and it looks like it's going to be a Carver. So, I decided to make contact with "The Comunity".
One of the things we like about Carvers is the cockpit option. It's so easy to get aboard boats with cockpits when you're old like us. I'm looking at either a 390, 400, 404, or 430. We like the extra room in the 430, but they seem to be rare compared to the smaller ones. We looked at a 504 and it's just too big and too expensive.
Can you recomend topics that will help us make a decision and also help us make the transistion to living aboard?
Thanks

Having never lived aboard, I can't help. But I bet you have a lot of "stuff" to sell. Not much room on a boat to keep much more than some clothes.

I'm trying to decide if I need a car. The marina is close enough to everyhing and we can rent a car if we need to make a trip.
It's a big change in life style, but we're ready. DOWN SIZE, MORE FEEDOM, LESS WORRIES It least that's the plan.
