Good Morning All!
We have recently become enamored with 504 Cockpit Motor Yacht model. So far, we've only seen it in photos but it sure looks like it was tailor-made for our needs.
One of the nicest features in the engine room access. On our old boat, a 1986 Chris Craft Catalina, the engine room access was a removable hatch in the salon floor. No ladder, no steps, and while you're working in the engine room, everyone else had to be careful walking around in the salon. The 504 engine room is apparently accessed by lifting the forward stairs and stepping down a couple of steps. I'm guessing it's not stand up height, right? I'm 5'10". Stooping over a little isn't a big deal. What about access to the outboard sides of the engines? Easy enough to get around there to change impellers and hoses? Anything that's really hard to reach like shaft seals or a certain bilge pump? Are the rudder shaft seals under the stairs/settee in the master stateroom?
We don't know what we don't know so any tips or guidance would be appreciated. Any design issues that are a problem?
Thank you very much.
John
